There’s a relentlessness to pretty much everything 4s4ki does, her music packing so much into so little time to such an extent that even something as short as Here or Hell can feel exhaustingly attention-demanding. Her beats charge between ambient techno, drum ‘n’ bass and something more extreme: unhinged, rattling, gabber-esque. She vocally swings between the robotically angelic and angelically robotic, as suited to emo rap croons as pop punk wails. While all of this has long been a feature of 4s4ki projects, Here or Hell is – for me, at least – her most consistent and best work yet.
