Beneath the polished hooks and slick production of Hansamu na Dance [Handsome Dance], it doesn’t take much probing to uncover Mega Shinnosuke’s persistent indie spirit. Over the past couple of years he may have transitioned from a dreamier DIY sound into punchier, more accessible styles, but Shinnosuke can’t shake the sonic curiosity and hyperactivity that so heavily laced his previous works of indie pop. Within Hansamu na Dance are four exceptionally tight, mobile and detailed pop tunes.
