Noah’s Noire finds power and impact in its ability to reset, to return its listener to a level of quietness and then gradually build a piece of music outside of normal realms of volume. A bedrock of ambience is built upon with piano- and synth-led songwriting, occasionally pushing into minimal beats, deftly manipulated loops and austerely gyrational grooves. Everything about Noire is gentle; so gentle, in fact, that one might be required to study beyond its surface-level pleasantry in order to properly take heed of all its subtleties.
