Soshi Takeda’s shorter follow-up to his 2021 debut record Floating Mountains is another lush, engulfing electronic work that blends new age bliss and idyllic, sun-drenched vibes with Takeda’s usual displays of taste and skill. It seems obvious to say that this is the kind of record that entrances, that you get lost in: it’s all loops, arpeggios, aquatic textures and steady beats, combining with a kind of unrushed, echoing digital beauty which is, feasibly but certainly not to its detriment, of direct aesthetic lineage to vapourwave. It’s a testament to Takeda’s talents as an electronic producer that even these six tracks, with under half an hour’s music between them, can still give listeners a solid experience of his artistry.
